Rajahmundry: Steps are being taken to re-structure hospital committees in the State, Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said here on Saturday. He maintained that the district hospital developmental committees would be set up as per the suggestions of the
people’s representatives and accordingly, the government would issue orders for the same.

He was participating as a chief guest at the felicitation function for the staff of health department who rendered their services in Godavari Pushkaralu. Speaking on the occasion, Kamineni said that medical and health staff has got 94 per cent marks in recently-concluded Godavari Pushkaralu and called upon them to continue their services with the same spirit.

He stressed the need for improving the medical and health system to provide more services to the people. He made it clear that deputy DM&HOs should monitor administrative aspects and faulted some of these officers who are running private hospitals. He assured that required facilities would be provided for mother and child protection centre in Rajahmundry very soon.

Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, Poonam Malakondaiah made it clear that the doctors should stay put in hospitals from 9 am to 5 pm and shouldn’t perform duties in any private hospital during those timings. She maintained that the doctors should be available for emergency cases and the details of the doctors who are working in private hospitals should be sent to the government.

Stating that there is no permission for deputy DM&HOs working in districts to work in private hospitals, she made it clear that the doctors should work on regular basis to work in private hospitals. She informed that the GPS system is compulsory for every government vehicle from the month of September and the supply of fuel would be stopped if the GPS was not implemented.
