Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to take legal measures against Telangana government for not implementing Hyderabad High Court directions over extending services of Telugu University and Dr BR Ambedkar Open University.

Addressing newspersons at the State Secretariat, Human Resource Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao lamented that despite court’s direction the Telangana government failed to extend the services to centres located in Andhra Pradesh.

It may be noted that Hyderabad High Court directed both Telugu University and Open University to continue their services in Andhra Pradesh.

The court asked AP government to pay salaries of the employees working in the study centres located in the State. While adjourning the case for final hearing,

the court also asked the Central government to resolve the issues of both universities in eight weeks by finalising the modalities of their functioning as per Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act.

“We are ready to pay the salaries of the employees in the State. But the Telangana government is adamant over the issue. We will serve legal notice on Telangana government,” Ganta said.
