Andhra CA feels honoured at MSK’s national elevation

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) felicitated former cricketer MSK Prasad, who has been appointed as the Senior Selection Committee member for the Board of Cricket Control (BCCI) at the Krishna District Cricket Association’s new play field at Mulapadu on Thursday.

Minister for Water Resources Management Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and BCCI Vice-president and Narsapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju felicitating former cricketer MSK Prasad The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) felicitated former cricketer MSK Prasad, who has been appointed as the Senior Selection Committee member for the Board of Cricket Control (BCCI) at the Krishna District Cricket Association’s new play field at Mulapadu on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, BCCI Vice-president and Narsapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju said that the 40 year old MSK Prasad had punched his way in to the Indian Cricket Team in the late 1990s. The former wicket keeper was inducted in to the senior national committee replacing former World Cup winner Roger Binny as South zone’s representative. He congratulated MSK Prasad and hailed his commitment shown in the selection committee of ACA over the years.

Minister for Water Resource Management Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said, “It’s a great feeling and a proud moment for the Andhra Cricket Association. MSK Prasad has done justice to the faith ACA had towards him over the years. The new job will definitely be a challenge for the cricketer to identify players, who can become legends and play for the country over the years.”

Speaking after receiving the felicitation, MSK Prasad said, “I am extremely happy and excited to be one of the Senior Selection Committee members for BCCI. As a cricketer I was thrilled to play for the country at the highest level. I have been the member of selection committee of ACA over the years. I need to thank ACA Secretary Gokaraju Gangaraju for elevating me to the selection panel and I promise to exercise my duties in a transparent manner.”
