Kurnool: Malpractices, like mass copying and impersonation, by about 50 per cent of students were witnessed on Saturday during the Rayalaseema University practical examinations held at Sri Satya Sai Degree College in Kodumur.

The college management allowed the students to the exam without hall tickets after collecting money from them, alleged leaders of some district student organisations showing evidence. They pointed out that such practices would damage the education system.

The leaders, including Obulesu of Kurnool, who lodged a complaint with University Registrar Prof Amaranth, wanted the college to be disaffiliated. The Registrar said he would take immediate action against the college after conducting an inquiry. He recalled that action was taken against the institution in the past.

However, the college management claimed that there might have been impersonations by one or two students. It contended that the mass copying had not come to its notice. When the media questioned the students they silently went away from the college.
