Two States told to ensure use of helmets

The two-judge PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising of Acting Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale and Justice SV Bhatt on Monday pulled up the AP government for not clearly voicing its stance on implementing the law relating to compulsory use of helmets.

The bench also pointed to the Telangana government and said that hardly 20 per cent of two-wheeler riders are seen in the city using helmets. However, the bench is monitoring the rule and adjourned the matter and granted further time to both governments to ensure proper use of helmets in both States.
