Plan to draw 2.7 tmcft Tungabhadra water

Kurnool: Irrigation Superintending Engineer S Chandrasekhara Rao has said a proposal will be submitted to the State Government soon seeking permission to utilise the remaining 2.7 tmcft share of KC Canal in Tungabhadra water.

Speaking to newsmen here on Thursday, the SE said 2.5 tmcft Tungabhadra water was released to KC Canal ayacut in November.

If the government clears the proposal, the Irrigation Department would get water released from Tungabhadra reservoir to KC Canal later this month for irrigation of Kurnool and Kadapa districts, he said.
