With six people losing their lives after consuming illicit liquor at Swarna Bar in Krishna Lanka area in Vijayawada on Monday morning, the incident has led to a major uproar in the state. It is learnt that Congress leader Malladi Vishnu and his brother own partnership with the concerned bar.

Speaking on the adulterated liquor incident, the Congress leader came to his defence stating that he had nothing to do with the tragedy and that the bar belongs to his relatives. Malladi Vishnu further said that the water contamination might be the reason for the tragedy as the mineral water that the customers mixed with the liquor might not have been purified.
Meanwhile, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ordered a probe into the incident while the doctors detected Methale Alcohol in the samples of the liquor collected from the bar.
