Put together, the half-yearly growth performance (H1) stands at impressive 11.77 per cent, according to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Releasing quarterly performance assessment report of second quarter at Collectors’ conference here on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the State has achieved 13.94 per cent growth rate in second quarter as against 10.82 per cent growth rate in the quarter 1.
The Chief Minister said growth rate should be achieved by balancing both welfare and development. He said some departments achieved good growth rate and stressed the need for increasing the performance of other departments to reach the targets.
Citing the national-level awards to power sector, the Chief Minister said that the State became power-surplus from power deficit situation. He said other departments should follow the growth rate in power sector.
He said the growth rate was more in primary sector but failed to achieve growth rate in agriculture. He said the fisheries top in growth rate registering 119.2 per cent followed by agriculture and allied sector - 47.1 per cent and livestock -28.34 per cent.
The Chief Minister said the growth rate in agriculture would stabilise all sectors and the society. He said that the government has been initiating several steps to preserve rainwater to improve groundwater levels in upland areas of the State.
Explaining how Pattiseema project saved crops in Krishna delta, he asked the Collectors to achieve growth rate in agriculture through flood management. He asked the Collectors to deliver welfare schemes with maximum efficiency and concentrate on Neeru-Pragati, primary sector, tourism, industry and service sectors.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishna Murthy suggested decentralisation of powers for better performance. He said officials should stay at their work place in rural areas.
Addressing the meeting, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the performance of industry and service sectors should be improved. Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa, Ministers, Chief Secretary I Y R Krishna Rao, Secretaries and Collectors were present.
