Task force police seize pirated CDs
The Vijayawada city police raided a CD/DVD shop at Chittinagar on Friday where a large scale piracy of recent releases was being carried out. In all, 500 pirated versions of the film \'Soukhyam\', along with 14,000 empty CDs, were seized from their possession. Two were taken into custody following the raids.

Vijayawada: The Vijayawada city police raided a CD/DVD shop at Chittinagar on Friday where a large scale piracy of recent releases was being carried out. In all, 500 pirated versions of the film 'Soukhyam', along with 14,000 empty CDs, were seized from their possession. Two were taken into custody following the raids. Based on a tip-off, the task force police, along with the Two- Town police raided Bhavani CD Shop at Panja Centre, owned by Thalasila Suresh Babu (35) of Chittinagar. They found out that the video booth is selling pirated versions of the latest releases. Upon further probe, it is found that the accused Suresh had acquired 12 units of duplicating machines from Chennai to cary out the activity. He, along with his colleague Garre Harish (30), was involved in duplicating the prints. There were also a few cases booked against him on the same charges earlier.
