A 19-member Japanese delegation arrived in at Vijayawada on Sunday on a two-day visit to the new capital city, Amaravati.

The delegation led by the led by Toyama Prefecture governor Takakazu Ishii included Toyama State Assembly Chairman Sakae Yokoyama, the Federation of Toyama Prefectural Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s chairman - Shigeo Takagi and Consul-General of Japan in Chennai - Seiji Baba.

The Japanese delegation met AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday and reportedly expressed their interest in financially aiding the development of the proposed state capital of Amaravati. During the meet, AP government is expected to have signed 11 agreements on different issues with Japan including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and tourism sectors.
