Restrictions on New Year revellers

City DSP G Venkata Ramudu said that they are imposing certain restrictions on New Year celebrations, anticipating possible disturbances. He said 33 police pickets will be arranged at main circles for New Year celebrations on Thursday night. Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the DSP made an appeal to the people to organise New Year celebrations in peaceful manner. He also said police officials are taking all security measures to prevent undesirable incidents during celebrations.

He instructed the hoteliers and event managers to record the activities as part of celebrations on CCTV cameras for future verification. Ramudu also directed them to take prior permission from the Police department for conducting cultural events and usage of loudspeakers. The DSP said bike racing and bursting crackers will be strictly banned at the celebration places.
