The State government has sanctioned Rs 10.25 crore for the development of SC colonies in the Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) under the SC, ST Sub-Plan.
Kurnool: The State government has sanctioned Rs 10.25 crore for the development of SC colonies in the Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) under the SC, ST Sub-Plan.
The KMC received a communiqué from the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department in this regard on Monday.
According to KMC officials, there are 104 slum areas in the city and a majority of them are SC colonies.
This is mainly due to the merger of three villages comprising more number of SC colonies with the KMC in February, 2014. The KMC has proposed to develop basic infrastructure in the SC colonies with the sanctioned funds.
