Bandi Atmakur (Kurnool): Panchayat secretary Lakshminarayana has been suspended for misusing funds to the tune of Rs 4.5 lakh. MPDO Subbamma told newsmen here on Friday that the District Panchayat Officer suspended the secretary of Bandi Atmakur village based on a report submitted by the mandal officials after probing the fund misuse charge against him.
He was also accused of swindling NREGS and 13th Finance Commission funds allocated to Bandi Atmakur by forging the signature of village sarpanch. An inquiry into forgery and fund swindling charges against him is still under way, the MPDO said.
