A man hailing from Chennai, who is believed to be mentally imbalanced created terror in Guntur General Hospital on Tuesday, where he was under treatment for injuries sustained after falling from a train in Bapatla. 

Guntur: A man hailing from Chennai, who is believed to be mentally imbalanced created terror in Guntur General Hospital on Tuesday, where he was under treatment for injuries sustained after falling from a train in Bapatla.

The man, who was identified as Mudivanand – a native of Chennai, fell from running train at Bapatla railway station and was injured. He along with his friend Natti Varnon was on their way to Odisha in search of work.

The Government Railway Police admitted him in Government General Hospital (GGH) on Monday. The man attacked a woman patient beside his bed on Tuesday morning and when a duty doctor came to her rescue, he too was assaulted. The ward boys, who tried to restrain the man, were also beaten up.

He later ransacked the ward by breaking glass panes and was finally overpowered by auto drivers and later tied to his bed. Meanwhile, police rushed to the place and took Mudivanand into custody, where he is being treated.
