US team discusses master plan
A team of US representatives met Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development R Karikalavalavin, Director K Kanna Babu, country planning director V Raghu, Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar and discussed the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the formulation of a Master Plan to make Vizag a Smart City here at the GVMC on Tuesday.
Visakhapatnam: A team of US representatives met Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development R Karikalavalavin, Director K Kanna Babu, country planning director V Raghu, Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar and discussed the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the formulation of a Master Plan to make Vizag a Smart City here at the GVMC on Tuesday.
The team comprising the US Trade and Development Agency (South Asia), country representative Mehnaz Ansari, Financial Attaché to India Jinu Koola, US Aid Development Credit Authority representative Stephen Matzie, Senior Advisor for Innovation and Partnership Nehal Sanghavi and Political and Economic Specialist Siba Prasada Tripathy discussed various issues relating to the status of basic amenities like health, hygiene, sanitation, power and water supply to develop Vizag into a Smart City.
Chief Secretary Karikalavalavin and Commissioner Praveen Kumar apprised the expert team about various projects and works already taken up and would be taken up in the corporation. The team gave suggestions which are to be included in the DPR. Corporation chief engineer Durga Prasad, chief city planner D Venkataratnam and superintendent engineer Mojes Kumar were present.
