Vijayawada: Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) in association with the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) and the Employment Generation and Marketing Mission (EGMM) is going to offer free training to the educated unemployed youth to nail opportunities in Indian Army. Free recruitment training will be offered for interested candidates in paramilitary, BNF, CRPF, ITBF and other categories.

In a release to the media here on Saturday, Project Director of MEPMA V Himabindu said that the candidates would be tested for physical fitness on January 19 at Swarajya Maidan (PWD Grounds) and would be sent to Dharmavaram near Puttaparthi of Anantapuram district for further training. The training lasts for about three months. The candidates would be trained in essential aspects of Army and provided with free boarding and lodging facilities.

After training, efficient candidates would be helped to nail jobs in the respective disciplines, which offer a salary of about Rs 25,000. Candidates who are between 17 and 21 years of age with SSC examination or Intermediate pass are eligible to apply for training. Among the applied, candidates with 166 centimeters height and 53 kilos of weight would be preferred, added Himabindu.
