Anantapur: Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Friday set fire to the effigies of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind kejriwal and AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi during a demonstration on the SKU campus here to protest against their alleged attempts to raise caste politics on the Hyderabad Central University campus.

Addressing the demonstrators, university ABVP president Rakib alleged that the four Ambedkar Students’ Association members of spreading disinformation that they were suspended because they were Dalits and that they were subjected to social boycott. This, he said, was condemnable, while claiming that he was stating facts of incidents that happened on the campus this week.

While expressing sympathy to the family of suicide victim Rohith Vemula, Rakib accused the association of instigating caste feuds between the students and the faculty and attacking ABVP leader Sushil in a hotel room during night.

He demanded that such students be ostracised and judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into the campus incidents. Among those who took part in the demonstration were ABVP leaders Sharath, Mahesh, Manjunath, Maruthi, Mahesh, Parvez, Ahmed, Vineeth, Shyam and Basha.
