Hyderabad: Reiterating that the State government is committed to development and welfare, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu stressed on isolating criminals and corrupt from politics. He said that the politically unemployed Opposition is raising issues to obstruct development.
In a teleconference with 8,000 party leaders and public representatives, the Chief Minister explained how Visakhapatnam, battered by Hudhud cyclone, is now able to host national and international events. After the CII Partnership Summit, the city is hosting International Fleet Review from February 4 to 8.
Elaborating on the State government’s efforts to fast pace development, the Chief Minister suggested the officials to ensure full utilisation of MGNREGA funds. “While we are currently utilising up to Rs 3,500 crore, we need to reach up to Rs 6,500 crore,” he said.
He said that the Opposition is trying to obstruct Amaravati development, Pattiseema and other welfare initiatives of the government. “The Opposition has tried to tarnish the image of Vijayawada on the call money issue. Their leaders have also disrespected Speaker of the Assembly,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that he aims to make Rayalaseema horticulture hub, while bringing in best practices in agriculture activities and instil a feeling of regionalism among the people to partner in development. Meanwhile, he suggested the leaders from village to State level to interact and educate people on the government’s developmental activities.
Naidu also reiterated that the government is clear that the interests of people from Backward Classes will not be sacrificed. Our aim is to eliminate poverty and economic inequality, he said. The Chief Minister directed the party workers to educate people on the government’s cement road programme, pensions and welfare activities while exposing the Opposition’s obstructive attitude.
