Centre committed to weavers welfare, says Union Minister
Union Health Minister JP Nadda assured weavers that the Centre would provide them with health cards, and also promised to take up their issues with the minister concerned.

Madanapalle (Chittoor district): Union Health Minister JP Nadda assured weavers that the Centre would provide them with health cards, and also promised to take up their issues with the minister concerned.
The Union Minister on Monday, along with his party leaders including BJP senior leader Challaplli Narasimha Reddy, party Mahila Morcha state incharge D Purendeswari among others participated in series of programmes here.
Addressing a weavers meeting, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had introduced social security schemes including Atal Pension Yozana, Jeevan Jyohti and Bima Suraksha Yojana insurance schemes and also Jan Dhan bank accounts to extend banking facilities to those engaged in unorgnised sector including handlooms and textiles, which is the largest livelihood source after agriculture in the country.
During the interaction, the weavers sought the minister to set up a textile park in Madanapalle, supply of materials like yarn and dye at subsidised price and a separate housing colony to weavers in the area to which the minister responded positively.
He also visited MITS Engineering College where he interacted with the students. The students came up with many suggestions on Digital India and Make in India, the two pet programmes of the Narendra Modi government. Later, the minister also addressed farmers meeting in Pileru before reaching Tirupati.
In Tirupati, the minister held a meeting with senior party leaders and prominent persons discussing various issues including party matters, according to sources.
