Eluru: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers showed their agony and anger stating that the sand and ration policies adopted are becoming a bane to the party. Even the party came to power after 10 years, the cadres did not get the posts so far, the workers alleged.

The TDP District Committee general body meeting was held here on Wednesday. District president of the party and Rajya Sabha member Thota Sitaramalakshmi presided over the meeting.

The party workers raised their voice against the party policies immediately after beginning of the meeting. They alleged that the government schemes were not reaching the common people and the people were getting angry over the government and the party.

They also alleged that because of the sand problem in the district, people were suffering a lot besides no work to the masons and workers. The government’s image was at stake because of the sand mafia. The workers alleged that a stalemate prevailed with regard to the sanction of loans.

Confusion gripped over who are getting the loans. Some workers raised their voice over the nominated posts in the state. They stated that the workers are striving hard for the party over the years and did not get any post so far. Even after waiting for 10 years without power, no second rung worker was nominated to any post, they lamented.

The workers stated that the people voted to the party in West Godavari district with a hope on development activities. Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu) said that Congress culture was gradually entering into the Telugu Desam Party. He called upon the leaders and cadres to leave the group politics in the party.

The Telugu Rythu State Secretary, Vanka Somachandra Rao, urged the cadres to set things in the party in order. Tanuku ZPTC member Atmakuru Buliraju Dora said that under the guise of no-match of finger prints, ration was being denied to the poor.

The TDP State Spokesperson Mullapudi Renuka, Minister Peethala Sujatha, MLCs MA Sheriff, Angara Ramamohan Rao, MLAs Ganni Veeranjaneyulu, Vetukuri SivaramaRaju (Siva), Modim Srinivas and others participated.

When the Minister Peethala Sujatha came on the dais, Eluru MP Maganti Babu left the place immediately, even though he had called upon the workers to shun group politics.
