‘No priority for Telugu as official language’

Nellore: Speakers lamented that implementation of Telugu as official language has not been practically done for many years and now Telugu was being considered as a second language. Nellore District Bhashodyama Samithi organised International Mother Language Day on Sunday and Additional Joint Collector RS Rajkumar, who was the chief guest, recalled the services of Kandukuri Veereshalingam Panthulu, Gidugu Rammurthy Panthulu, Gurajada Apparao and Sri Sri.

They said people were failing to enjoy beauty of mother tongue as they had developed passion for foreign language. Poetic form in Telugu is unique and people who are acquainted with mother tongue can only enjoy its beauty, he said.
