​ Visakhapatnam: The city police solved the murder mystery of an unidentified man found near Fishing Harbour in the city on February 21 after arresting Y Naresh (28), a resident of Kakinada in East Godavari district.

The police said it was a case related to an illicit affair. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old K Pentayya alias Raju of Pagadalapeta in Kakinada. On February 21, the body was found floating near Jetty 11 in the Fishing Harbour with hands and legs tied with ropes.

The DCP said that Pentayya, a fisherman, along with two others Suri and Prasad, came to Vizag two weeks ago. They went for fishing for six days and returned to the shore on February 19 with the catch. Pentayya met Naresh whom he knew for the past few months, on the same night, however, he went missing the next day. His body was found floating near the jetty a day later.

The city police nabbed Naresh in Kakinada and during the interrogation Naresh confessed to committing the crime stating that Pentayya had developed an illicit affair with his wife. Naresh came to Vizag and consumed alcohol with Pentayya on February 19 and after Pentayya lost conscious, Naresh killed Pentayya and threw his body into the waters after tying his hands and legs to a boulder so that the body would not surface.
