He stated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is very firm to stop red sanders smuggling from grassroots-level.

While praising district police for doing commendable job for arresting red sanders smugglers, the Home Minister said that smuggling of red sanders logs is still going on. He stated that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is very firm to stop red sanders smuggling from grassroots-level.

The HM inaugurated residential quarters for police personnel at Piler. Later, he came to the district headquarters and reviewed the performance of the police. Addressing the police officials at District Police Office (DPO), the HM said that the State government is committed to strengthening the Police department. He asked police personnel to build confidence among people so that aggrieved can visit the police stations to file complaints.

Chinna Rajappa also reviewed the red sanders smuggling menace in the district with police officials. District SP G Srinivas has appraised the Minister about the measures being taken by the district police to control red sanders logs smuggling. He assured of constructing residential quarters to police personnel in a phased manner. Later, Chinna Rajappa has visited the newly constructed blocks at DPO. Additional SP (Administration) Abhishek Mohanty, ASP (Operational) Ratna and other police officials were present.

Speaking to the media at DPO, the Minister said the government would act firmly against anti-social elements. Referring to the Mayor couple murder case, the HM said that the district police were successful in arresting the accused. He stated that efforts are on to modernise the jails. To a question, Chinna Rajappa informed the media that there was no shortage of funds to take up development works in the Police department.
