Visakhapatnam: City president of BJP M Nagendra, MLA P Vishnukumar Raju and all party senior leaders under the guidance of State president and Lok Sabha Member K Hari Babu are putting in efforts in making arrangements for those attending to the public meeting to be addressed by the national president Amit Shah in Rajamahendravaram on March 6.

This will be the first visit of Amit Shah to AP after assuming charge as president for the second consecutive term. Speaking to ‘The Hans India’ here on Sunday, city president M Nagendra informed that over one lakh party activists and leaders would attend the meeting from north Andhra and another one lakh from other districts. He said the objective of the meeting was “Andhra Pradesh Development -BJP’s Samkalp.” The national president would focus mainly on granting of manufacturing industries and educational institutions irrespective of those incorporated in the AP Re-Organisation Act-2013.

Nagendra said other focus areas include 24X7 power supply, funding to irrigation projects including Polavaram and development of road connectivity in the State. He reminded that the Centre had also sanctioned National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research. “For the last one month, we have been sensitizing the party activists and leaders not only in all municipal wards but also in rural areas. Plenty of private buses and cars were arranged for the activists to attend the meeting from each municipal division along with food and drinking water facilities,” he said.

The attendance of BJP activists and leaders from Vizag district assumed significance as it is the native area of party State president and Lok Sabha Member K Hari Babu who is regularly monitoring the arrangements from north Andhra and also at the Rajamahendravaram.

When asked about the pending special railway zone for Vizag, Nagendra said that the BJP was committed for the development of AP and the Centre would certainly grant the special railway zone.

Appealing to the public to attend to the meeting in large numbers, he said that Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and others would accompany the party national president.
