Eluru: In response to a report published in these columns, the Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad is understood to have admonished superintendent of the district headquarters Government Hospital, Dr AVR Mohan Rao, over the Government Mother and Child Health Centre remaining closed soon after its inauguration on January 1.

Talking to ‘The Hans India’, gynecologist Pratyusha said remedial measures were initiated and some medical officers working in the district headquarters hospital have been deputed to the hospital, which resumed medical and health services from Wednesday.

Meanwhile, patients said that the scanning machine operators did not turn up even by 11 am and maintained that they were kept waiting. They said they were facing problems since children also accompanied them to the hospital.

Hospital superintendent Dr AVR Mohan Rao, while speaking to ‘The Hans India’, said that the health center’s services could not be brought to use immediately because of the staff shortage.

The matter was taken to the notice of the State government. In order that the health centre to become operational fully, he said, unfinished civil works should be executed immediately besides recruiting security staff.
