Congress demand Special Status for AP
As the Andhra Pradesh Congress leaders have taken up the special status category for the state in New Delhi, the All India Congress Committee is raising its voice against the central government.
As the Andhra Pradesh Congress leaders have taken up the special status category for the state in New Delhi, the All India Congress Committee is raising its voice against the central government. Speaking at a public event in the capital, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that she and the Congress party are committed to fulfilling the concerns of AP.
Reminding the UPA government of its promise made towards AP along with the BJP's commitments on the issue, Sonia Gandhi said that Congress would struggle and work towards the fulfillment of AP Special Status. The event witnessed Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other Congress members from AP. Rahul Gandhi too added that they would continue putting pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill the concerns of the state by granting Special Status.
