Participating in a meeting to congratulate the students of PVKK Engineering College who had been recruited in campus selection by a private IT firm here on Sunday, Raghunatha Reddy said that he was happy about 10 students being selected by Eftronics India Private
Limited.

Soon after the TDP came to power in the State about 44 companies came forward to invest Rs 3,000 crores and provide 50,000 jobs in the IT sector, he added. He lauded the Chief Minister for ushering in a technology revolution in the State and revealed that the grandiose plan of N Chandrababu Naidu to set up a fibre grid which would soon connect 40,000 villages and provide internet facility to every household in all villages.

Earlier, the activists of Akhila Bharatha Prajathantra Mahila Sangam submitted a memorandum to the Minister to sanction Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the family members of the deceased farmers and handloom weavers who had committed suicide and the Minister agreed to sympathetically consider the same.

Reiterating that the government is committed to women welfare, he said that 33 per cent of funds of SC, ST, BC sub-plans have been earmarked for women welfare.
