Later, speaking to the media, Subramanyam stated that the State government had sanctioned Rs 2.3 crore for the construction of proposed indoor sports complex in Kuppam long time ago. He instructed agencies concerned to start construction works of sports complex with immediate effect.

“Indoor Stadium Complex in Kuppam mandal would be developed as a model one in the State in an extent of 3 acres of land,” he added. He pointed out that construction of the sports complex would be taken up without any further delay. Efforts would be made for setting up a shuttle court, a volleyball court, a basketball court, walking track, running track and other facilities in the proposed sports complex.

Subramanyam said funds were sanctioned for the construction of sports complex and agencies concerned have to begin works. Siddharth Jain has explained the progress of various schemes being implemented by the district administration in Kuppam Assembly constituency.

Kuppam Area Development Authority special officer Syam Prasad, Joint Collector Venkata Subba Reddy, Chief Minister’s personal secretary Manohar, Kuppam Agricultural Marketing Committee Chairman Sekhar and other officials were present. Earlier, Subramanyam visited Chittoor and made a surprise visit to sports stadium.
