The salaries of MLAs and MLCs in Andhra Pradesh are going to be increased as the AP Amenities committee on Saturday decided in a meeting that the wages would be doubled. Currently, the people's representatives are being given a salary of Rs.90,000 and it will be soon raised to Rs. 2 lakhs each from which Rs 50,000 in the form of allowances.

Even car allowances for the MLAs and MLCs have been recommended to be increased by the committee from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 40 lakh. On the other hand, the Telangana MLAs and MLCs are expected to get Rs 3.5 lakh as compensation per month.
