Roja to appear before Privileges Committee
YSRCP MLA Roja on Friday said that she would appear before the Privileges Committee on the issue of her alleged ‘objectionable’ comments against the ruling TDP leaders in the Assembly.
Hyderabad: YSRCP MLA Roja on Friday said that she would appear before the Privileges Committee on the issue of her alleged ‘objectionable’ comments against the ruling TDP leaders in the Assembly.
She said along with that she would also continue her legal battle against the injustice meted to her by the Assembly by wrongfully suspending her for a year.
Addressing the press conference here, she said her suspension and TDP MLA Anita’s allegations were two different issues which were badly mixed up and confusion was being created.
The issues before the Privileges Committee are about her alleged remarks on Anita and her suspension was based on her utterances against the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in relation to the call money sex racket, she clarified.
She affirmed that her fight against injustice would continue as every effort was being made by distorting facts, concocting stories and resorting to character assassination by the ruling TDP.
The suspension issue under rule 304 clause (2) does not permit the Assembly to suspend any member for a year, Roja said and added that her party had already challenged it in the court. She said she was waiting for the judgment copy from the division bench of the High Court. She said once she got the copy she would seek legal opinion and then approach the Supreme Court.
