Ashtavadhanam by Garikapati enthralls

The literary fragrance has spread all over the Gnatasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance college on Monday evening with the admirable “Astavadhanam” by ‘Maha Sahasravadhani’ Dr Garikapati Narasimha Rao.

Ashtavadhanam by the renowned Garikipati Narasimharao was admired for its scholarly skills. This event was orgnaised by Andhra Nataka Kala Samithi as a part of its 51st Annual Celebrations. The session earned compliments from the learned for its presentation.

Avadhānaṃ is a literary performance, popular from the very ancient days in India. This has become popular with the avadhanams of legendary personalities like Kopparapu brothers, Tirupati Venkata kavulu.

Dr Garikapati Narasimha Rao’s exceptional retentive and recapitulative skills came into full play much to the delight of the audience as he recited all those verses composed spontaneously.

His creativity came to light in his poetic responses to intellectual poetic questions posed by the Pruschakas, Dr Narayana Suresh Babu (Nishidhakshari), Dr Donepudi Ramanjaneya Sarma (Samasya),Dr A Naga Jyothi (Dattpadi), Dr JV Chalapati Rao (Varnana), Dr P Usha (Asuvu), Dr Pidipati Umanatha Sarma (Purana Pathanam), Dr Y Purnachandra Rao (Vyastakshari) and Dr K Ramakrishna (Aprastuta Prasangam). The Avadhani and pruchakas were felicitated by Dr. Kamineni Pattabhiramaiah, Chaluvadi Mallikharjuna Rao, Karnati Lakshmi Narasaiah.
