Vijayawada: A delegation of CPI on Monday appealed to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to allocate Rs 1000 crore as immediate relief to the victims of AgriGold company.

A delegation led by the party State secretary K Ramakrishna met the Chief Minister and submitted a representation here on Monday.

The delegation also requested the Chief Minister to provide relief to the AgriGold depositors and agents who had committed suicide as the company did not pay their money. The delegation wanted him to take over the assets belonging to the company and put them for auction to realise the money.

Ramakrishna briefed the Chief Minister that the West Bengal State government had allocated Rs 500 crore to help the victims of Sarada Chit Fund. He wanted the Chief Minister to take similar steps and help the AgriGold victims.

The CPI leader also thanked the Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for raising the issue of AgriGold victims in the Assembly. He thanked the CPI MLC P J Chandrasekhar and PDF MLCs for raising the issue in Legislative Council. He expressed confidence that the government would speed up the process and do justice to the victims at the earliest.

The delegation included CPI secretaries M Nageswara Rao, Ravula Venkaiah, V Tirupathi Rao and MLC Chandrasekhar.
