The AP police entered into an MoU with Disease Eradication through Education and Prevention (DEEP), a voluntary organisation, to monitor the health of policemen and their family members, by digitising the data of every policemen. DGP JV Ramudu and DEEP managing trustee Dr Madhu signed the MoU here on Thursday.
Commissioner of Police Gautam Sawang took initiative to improve health conditions of policemen and their family members by negotiating with DEEP team, which rendered services during Amaravati marathon.
The organisation is going to gather the health data of nearly 2,500 policemen in Vijayawada police Commissionerate and their family members.
The trust CEO, Wing Commander Dr AK Srinivas said that a mobile app was developed to store the health data of each policemen. The data would be useful when the policeman was referred to a specialist. This mobile app technology would provide micro as well as macro analysis for every policeman.
Commissioner of Police Gautam Sawang said that the DEEP services would be available initially for policemen of Vijayawada Commissionerate. He said that specialist services would be available in police clinics with the help of DEEP. As majority of the police were working under odd conditions, they were suffering from health problems. In majority of the cases, the policeman fails to take care of their family members too. He stressed the need for taking care of health of policeman and expressed hope that the DEEP would fulfill it’s promise to serve the policemen.
Dr Ramesh Babu of Ramesh Hospitals who is also the partner of DEEP health programme, said that they were providing medical services for policemen for a few decades. He said that the hospital would provide specialist services for six days in a week for the benefit of policemen and their family members. Additional Commissioner of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha and other police officials were present.
