Vijayawada: The State government decided to celebrate the ensuing Krishna Pushkaralu to be held between August 12-23 in a grand manner by spending Rs 1,000 crore. A cabinet panel headed by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said "We have decided to spend an amount of Rs 1,000 crore to organise Krishna Pushkaralu.
We are taking all steps to celebrate the holy event in a flawless manner." According to him, Rs 318 crore has been allocated to R&B department to lay roads leading to Pushkar Ghats across the State and Rs 231 crore has been sanctioned for Irrigation department to construct bathing ghats and another Rs 231 crore has been allotted to Panchayat Raj department to take up other works for Pushkaralu. "Krishna-Godavari Pavitra Sangamam would be developed into a tourist spot," the Finance Minister said.
