Participating as a chief guest at the Durmukhi Nama Samvatsara Vedukalu organised by department of culture and languages and endowments at the NAC Kalyana Vedika on Friday, the CM said that techies from the State, who are working around the globe have started farming on a large scale.

Naidu reiterated that the State would become one of the top States in India by 2020. Comparing the urban population of the State with neighbouring States, the CM said that States with more urban population will have more income. “While the urban population is 35 per cent in Karnataka, Telangana, 49 per cent in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, it is only 25 per cent in the State.

We have least per capita income in south India,” he added. Naidu said that they are rewriting the history by constructing new capital on the banks of Krishna and added that construction of temporary secretariat will be complete by June 2016. Referring to Digital India, he said that the government is committed to provide fiber grid connecting all districts by July 2016.

He said the fibre line will be arranged by using the electrical polls in the state. “We have taken up distribution of LED bulbs on a massive scale to save power in the State. Power consumption will decrease by 40 per cent with LED bulbs and an estimated 20,000 MW power can be saved annually,” he added.

Narrating his achievements, Naidu said, “The government has successfully completed the Godavari-Krishna river linkage programme within year and efforts are on save water.” The CM reiterated that the government is giving priority for conservation of water by implementing Neeru - Chettu programme and implored on people to construct percolation tanks.

He later presented medals and awards to artistes for their achievements in respective fields. Chairman of the Legislative Council A Chakrapani, Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, deputy Chief Ministers N Chinaajappa and KE Krishna Murthy and other ministers were also present.
