Amaravati: Farmers of Rayapudi village under Tullur mandal demanded more compensation for their lands. They made it clear that while market value of land was more than Rs 3 crore, why should we give our lands at nominal price under the Land Acquisition, they questioned.

A farmer, Mallela Harindranath, said that if the government would acquire their lands, they would suffer heavy loss. He made it clear that he was not against to the capital construction and seeking better compensation for his property. Another farmer, Anumolu Gandhi, questioned how could the CRDA acquire and issue land acquisition notification without completing the land pooling process. He felt it was wrong. He said that he would not give his land.

CRDA director B L Chennakesavalu said that he would inform the feelings of farmers to the higher officials. CRDA director K Prabhakar, Deputy Collector N Srinivasa Rao and farmers were present.
