Panja-Gandhi Nagar flyover solution for traffic problem
Residents of One Town have been demanding the government for construction of flyover connecting the Panja Centre and Gandhi Nagar in Two Town. With the construction of flyover, commuters travelling between the old city and Gandhi Nagar can travel within five minutes.
Vijayawada: Residents of One Town have been demanding the government for construction of flyover connecting the Panja Centre and Gandhi Nagar in Two Town. With the construction of flyover, commuters travelling between the old city and Gandhi Nagar can travel within five minutes.
The commuters of old city are travelling to Gandhi Nagar or Satyanarayanapuram via low bridge near K Market or Erra Katta road, which connects Chittinagar and Kedareswarapeta. Traffic on the low bridge is increasing after Vijayawada city was declared the temporary capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Moreover, the traffic also diverted via Panja Centre, Chittinagar and Gollapudi due to the Durga Temple flyover construction works. This traffic diversion multiplied the problem at low bridge. West MLA Jaleel Khan has been insisting on the construction of flyover connecting Panja Centre and Gandhi Nagar for a long time.
But, the railway officials are reluctant to give permission for construction of over bridge on the railway station. But, small bridge for the convenience of two wheelers and auto-rickshaws can be constructed connecting the two areas of the city. Travelling from Panja Centre or Kothapeta to Gandhi Nagar via low bridge or Erra Katta is very lengthy process and time-consuming.
YSRCP corporator of Division No 40 Shaik Asif said the construction of mini flyover connecting Panja Centre and Gandhi Nagar would be useful to a large number of people. Students, employees and traders in a large number will be benefited with the construction of mini flyover.
The VMC or the R & B department have to take a decision on construction of the mini flyover in the city to reduce the traffic problem at low bridge and help the commuters of old city to travel to Gandhi Nagar area and Beasant Road.
