The district TDP Christian Cell unit has taken up a special awareness campaign on the various schemes initiated by the State government for the benefit of Christian community members. Accordingly, the district TDP Christian Cell brought out a pamphlet on the 11 schemes which was released at the pastors meeting conducted by the cell in which local MLA M Suguna.
Tirupati: The district TDP Christian Cell unit has taken up a special awareness campaign on the various schemes initiated by the State government for the benefit of Christian community members. Accordingly, the district TDP Christian Cell brought out a pamphlet on the 11 schemes which was released at the pastors meeting conducted by the cell in which local MLA M Suguna and TDP district president G Srinivasulu took part.
Speaking on occasion, TDP Christian Cell district president Y Praveen said that due to lack of awareness on the schemes, scores of eligible poor members of the Christian community were unable to utilise them for their development. The TDP government initiated the schemes like skill development for improving employment including self-employment for which financial assistance with subsidy also being provided by the government.
Besides, government also providing assistance for the unemployed educated youth to prepare for competitive exams, banking, insurance etc and also for personality development and improvement of soft skills, he added. The other schemes include special training for those having law degree to hone their professional skills to improve practice, for construction of community halls, churches and financial assistance for marriage to unmarried women in Christian community.
However, most of schemes remain unutilised due to lack of awareness he said urging the pastors to help in promotion of the schemes for the benefit of the community. MLA Suguna reiterated that the TDP government is commitment for welfare of minorities including Christians.
She assured to take necessary steps for protection of Christian graveyards in the city and also for providing land wherever required for new graveyards.
Pastors Association senior functionaries Arul Arasu, Rajendran, Gangaraju and TDP Christian Cell leaders John Babu, Paul Raj, Kumaramma and others were present.
