City Mayor Koneru Sridhar inaugurated the first Vijayawada branch of The Vishakhapatnam Co-Operative Bank Private Limited at Funtimes Club road, Teachers Colony here on Sunday. Chairman of the bank, Ch Raghavendra Rao along with other members of the co-operative bank took part in the inaugural event.

Speaking on the occasion, bank’s chairman Raghavendra said that they have found it a right time to step into the city to not only expand their base but also be available for the people of lower and middle income groups. “Our bank has a huge loyal clientele and our USP is that we encourage the small scale industries, cottage industries and other such organisations to prosper.
Most of the low income and middle income groups form the bank’s major success,” he said. The branch in the city is the 39th and first in the district. In the next month, bank is going to set up branches in Guntur and add another branch to the existing two at Hyderabad, he added. Chairman of Emeritus M Anjaneyulu , chief executive officer P V Narasimha Murthy, directors G Janardhana Rao, C A Sastry, P V Ramana Rao and others were present.
