Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu celebrated his 67th birthday on Wednesday by offering special prayers to Goddess Kankadurga for the welfare of the State and new capital Amaravati at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri.

​Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu celebrated his 67th birthday on Wednesday by offering special prayers to Goddess Kankadurga for the welfare of the State and new capital Amaravati at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri.

Temple in-charge Executive Officer Chandrsekhar Azad and the priests extended traditional welcome to the Chief Minister and led him to the sanctum sanctorum. The priests felicitated the Chief Minister by offering him silk vastrams of the presiding deity, laddu prasadam and mementos of Goddess Kanakadurga.

A silver Maha Patra was presented to the Chief Minister by MLC Buddha Venkanna and temple authorities during his visit to the temple. Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) and others accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit to the temple.
