Amaravati: APCC chief N Raghaveera Reddy alleged that the State government was violating Constitution by not implementing the reservations in jobs filled by the Capital Region Development Authority. He was speaking at the concluding meeting of the party’s SC, ST, BC, Minority, Samajika Nyaya Sadhirakatha bus yatra here on Wednesday.

The Congress chief said that SC, ST, BC, minorities were losing opportunities as the government was flouting reservation norms laid out by the Constitution. He also alleged that the State government was neglecting the welfare of SC, ST, and recalled that even the CAG had expressed its ire.

He demanded the government to effectively implement the SC, ST Sub-Plan besides demanding berths for minorities and tribals in the State Cabinet. “People will teach him (Naidu) a lesson as he has not yet fulfilled the promise of providing at least one job to every family,” he lambasted.

Accusing corruption in the issuance of ration cards, the Congress chief alleged that the cards were issued on the basis of the recommendations of Janmabhoomi committees, which had ruling party members.

Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council C Ramachandraiah alleged that Naidu so far had splurged to the tune of Rs 2060 crore on his foreign tours from the State exchequer. He also lashed out at the TDP government for failing to exert pressure on the Centre to secure special status, special railway zone for the State.
