Tribal women sarpanches who came to Vijayawada to attend the national-level meeting of sarpanches of 10 states spent Wednesday busily visiting villages and interacting with the local panchayt staff, sarpanches and district officials. Tribal women sarpanches from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, AP, Telangana, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh visited villages. 

Vijayawada: Tribal women sarpanches who came to Vijayawada to attend the national-level meeting of sarpanches of 10 states spent Wednesday busily visiting villages and interacting with the local panchayt staff, sarpanches and district officials. Tribal women sarpanches from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, AP, Telangana, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh visited villages.

A team visited Enikepadu in Vijayawada rural mandal and interacted with the local villagers and panchayat staff. The officials told about the distribution of pensions, e-PoS system, duties of Anganwadi workers, health programmes implemented for the local people, drinking water supply, electrification, implementation of NREGS and other programmes.

Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi explained the visiting sarpanches about the welfare schemes implemented by the State government and local administration. The teams visited Challapalli village, which is also the mandal centre and inspected the Swatch Bharat sanitation programmes.

Another team visited Kuchipudi village in Movva mandal and other team visited Komaravaram village in Pamarru mandal. The fifth team visited Chodavaram village of Penamaluru mandal. The visiting sarpanches spoke to the local villagers, Anganwadi workers, teachers, sarpanches and ward members and inquired the local administration about their duties.
