​Eluru: Amarjit Sen, Chief Executive Officer, Polavaram Irrigation Project Authority, said that the authority will monitor the Polavaram project construction works every month as it has to be completed by December, 2019. He, along with authority financial adviser Jagmohan Gupta, member R K Gupta, along with chief engineer Parameswar, irrigation secretary Adityanath Das, engineer-in-chief M Venkateswara Rao visited Polavaram project site on Thursday.

They inspected the ongoing works of Polavaram and expressed satisfaction. Speaking to the media at the Project Camp Office, Amarjit Sen said: “With the completion of Polavaram project, we would produce 1,000 megawatts of power and would get Rs 2,500 crore income. He said, along with Polavaram, 89 irrigation projects, have to be completed within four years in the country.

He further stated that at present in the Krishna Delta, the farmers are getting 25 bags per acre. With the completion of Patitseema irrigation project, the yielding may rise to 90 bags per acre, he said. Earlier, the authority members visited the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme (PLIS) and the rehabilitation colonies of Polavaram oustees.
