Amaravati / Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has made elaborate arrangements to operate special buses to facilitate transportation for candidates appearing for EAMCET-2016 on Friday.

In a statement released in Vijayawada on Tuesday, APSRTC Managing Director and Vice-president N Sambasiva Rao said that special arrangements were made for the students appearing for the EAMCET exam across the State. “`EAMCET special' stickers will be pasted on the buses operating on examination centres’ routes.

For engineering students buses would be operated from 6 am and while for agriculture and medicine students buses would be operated from 11 am,” the Statement read. Rao urged students to use the services at free of cost by showing their hall ticket to the conductors.

The RTC MD added that conductors and drivers have been briefed to pick up students for all the examination centres without any hesitation. “Special buses will also be operated after the completion of the test from major bus terminals across the State,” he added.

In Guntur district as many as 30,000 students are expected to utilise the services. Speaking to The Hans India, APSRTC Guntur regional manager S Srihari said, “So far APSRTC provided free travel facility to the Intermediate and SSC students and for the first time,

the facility is being extended to the candidates appearing for the EAMCET examination. We will also be setting up help desks to give necessary information to the candidates. These will be at AC College, BR Stadium, Market Point, Lodge Centre and others.”
