Polavaram left canal by next year: Yanamala
Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, who is also the district in-charge Minister, said that the Polavaram left canal would be completed by the end of 2017 to supply water to 6,31,000 acres in the district.

He also added that government had the intention to speed up Babu Jagjivan Ram Uttarandhra Sujala Sravanthi to help farmers.
The Minister held a review meeting with local officials on the drought conditions prevailing in the district. He instructed MLAs and local officials to bring the pending works of Srujala Sravanthi to complete the works on war footing.
He also asked the officials to complete all the recharge pits and the farm ponds as per the schedule of the Neeru-Pragathi programme. “Desiltation of ponds and construction of check dams should also be taken on urgent basis,’’ he told the officials.
