AP Panchayati Raj Minister Ayyanna Patrudu addressing the Mini Mahanadu of the Telugu Desam Party in Visakhapatnam on Sunday reacted strongly against BP leaders who are talking against Amaravati, the proposed capital of Andhra Pradesh stating that huge funds are not needed for building a capital.

Stating that the BJP leaders should not talk irresponsibly on Amaravati, Ayyanna Patrudu demanded the centre to accord special status category to AP and clarified that TDP is only asking to implement the assurance given in the Parliament. Mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in the Parliament that they could build a better capital than Delhi, the TDP leader appealed PM Modi to keep his promise on the same.

The Minister also brought focus on the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation elections that are scheduled in September or October and urged the party cadre to be ready for the elections.Ayyanna Patrudu expressed confidence that TDP will win the GVMC elections.
