Vijayawada: The Tax Payers Association demanded the municipal corporators, who toured seven North Indian cities, to explain the tour details and asked what methods the Delhi government is implementing to supply 150 litres of water per day free of cost to 37 lakh families.

Corporators’ study tour to North India

The association in the press release here on Sunday said Delhi is located on the banks of River Yamuna and Vijayawada city is located on the banks of River Krishna. They said the Delhi government is supplying drinking water free of cost to 37 lakh families and how is it doing so.

The Tax Payers Association president B Sambi Reddy and secretary M Anjaneyulu asked the corporators to inform the people of Vijayawada about their study tour and what did they learn on water supply system in Delhi and what machinery and procedure the Government of Delhi is following.

The Taxpayers Association also asked the corporators how the Shimla Municipal Corporation is supplying drinking water to the residents of Shimla which is a hilly area. They said the about 10 percent of the Vijayawada population are living on the hills and they need water from the VMC.

The Tax Payers Association said the 37 corporators have spent Rs 30 lakh for the study tour and must explain to people what they have learnt during their nine days study tour to seven cities in North India.
