Vijayawada: The Central government appreciated the optical Fibernet project aimed to provide television, phone and internet facility to all houses in the State by July and asked the other States to follow AP. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that TV, phone and net facility would be provided to each house at Rs 149 per month.

Following the initiative taken by the Chief Minister, the officials completed the optical fiber cable at a stretch of 14,500 km out of 22,361 km. The optical fiber cable facility was completed totally in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts.

Giving details of the development programmes of the State government in the areas of infrastructure and Investments, Principal Secretary, Department of Energy, Infrastructure and Investments, Ajay Jain, said the government has been giving top priority for development of airports.

He said international flight services would be launched soon from Tirupati airport. He said the growth rate in air traffic stands at 60 per cent and 28.44 lakh passengers travelled by air this year against 17.8 lakh passengers during 2014-15. He said the Vijayawada airport would be developed further by Krishna Pushkaralu.
