The MP informed the Collector that the Seva Samithi conducted a similar programme during the Godavari Pushkarams last year and fed 90,000 pilgrims. 

Vijayawada: Alluri Sitarama Raju Seva Samithi has come forward to provide free food to 10,000 pilgrims from August 12 to 23 during Krishna Pushkarams. A delegation of the Seva Samithi led by Narsapur MP Gokaraju Ganga Raju met District Collector Babu A at his camp office in the city on Friday and sought permission to organise the mass feeding programme during the pushkarams.

The MP informed the Collector that the Seva Samithi conducted a similar programme during the Godavari Pushkarams last year and fed 90,000 pilgrims.

Lauding the initiative of the Seva Samithi, the Collector promised to extend support to the voluntary organisations which come forward to serve pushkaram pilgrims. The Seva Samithi secretary K Gopalakrishna Raju, members Gadiraju Subba Raju, Gottimukkala Bhima Raju and Kanumuri Ramakrishna Raju were among those how met the Collector.
