Panchayat Secretary held accepting bribe
A Panchayat Secretary of Modugulapeta village in Santhakaviti Mandal was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday for accepting the bribe. According to Srikakulam DSP (ACB) K Ranga Raju, the accused I Gopi demanded Rs 2,000 bribe from Majji Ramu to issue death certificate of his father Majji Appala Naidu who died on January 22, 2016.
Srikakulam: A Panchayat Secretary of Modugulapeta village in Santhakaviti Mandal was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday for accepting the bribe. According to Srikakulam DSP (ACB) K Ranga Raju, the accused I Gopi demanded Rs 2,000 bribe from Majji Ramu to issue death certificate of his father Majji Appala Naidu who died on January 22, 2016.
Accused Gopi has been delaying the issue of a death certificate for four months by demanding the bribe. Vexed with the attitude Gopi, Ramu complained to ACB officials and acted according to their instructions. On Monday, while Gopi was accepting the bribe amount Rs 2,000 from Ramu at Mandal Parishad office in Santhakaviti Mandal headquarters, the ACB officials arrested him. He will be produced before the special court for ACB cases in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
